The Pattern Story
The meaning behind Tapa
Tapa (also called siapo in Samoa, ngatu in Tonga) is made by beating the inner bark of the paper mulberry tree. The geometric patterns stamped onto the cloth tell stories of family lineage, social status, and connection to the land. Our print adapts these sacred geometries for modern movement.
