Siapo is the Samoan name for Tapa cloth. Traditionally created by women, Siapo is one of the most important art forms in Samoan culture. The designs are applied using carved wooden tablets called 'upeti' — each pattern unique to the family that created it. Our Siapo motif honors this matrilineal tradition.
